such care
I love this picture of Finn's teacher, Karen Acker, as she prepared a display of student work from their Roman Emperor essays. There were more than one-hundred offerings of student work, 24 different performances or demonstrations, all stretching between 2 conference rooms at the White Eagle lodge---total creative chaos. Anyway, i walked in while they were setting up and here is Karen, with Zen-like composure and consideration, tucked into a niche in the gallery promenade creating a display of her student's work that was perhaps, in the maylay of activity later that night, not even noticed by more than 1/2 the guests. But those of us that did take it in were treated to beauty, proportion and great information about high school writers. Karen takes incredible care and abiding heart-joy in the details of things. She is a masterful teacher for me in this respect.
