Before we get to Crestone...

The picture of our house in Crestone is a bit premature on the blog entry--what you need to understand is that before we actually get there, we will be packing and leaving our nest of 12 years in Abita Springs, La. Here's a link to Hippy Haven where i'm pretty sure i created the post on Abita Springs (mostly because none of the Abita-boomers called themselves Hippies to begin with, that sounds like my mythologizing of their Abita migration in the early 70's. In fact, Ann O'Brien and John Preble said they were never hippies, they were/are too pragmatic to ever be called a hippy. Still, they have brought the sensibility and inventiveness of counter-culture to the core of the Abita lifestyle. And for that, i annoint them the Hippest Abitians. Crestone is listed there, too, check it out.) But back to packing and leaving Abita--clearing each cabinet, every closet, and packing our lives up is kind of like driving across Texas--it's a long and arduous step that must be made before one gets to Colorado from Louisiana. And, if you're looking for a real estate agent on the northshore, call our friend Heather Watters at Latter and Blum. Here's a link to her listings where you can check out pics of our Abita Home for a while longer. It sold the day she posted the pics on the website. That's pretty damn quick.
