Afternoon on the Farm

Ilene and David's home and horse farm was the perfect set and setting for our final night of togetherness on this journey. By happy synchronicity, David, a science teacher at a local highschool, has turned in his notice and is in the visioning process of turning the farm and his life there into a living model of sustainability. He has just begun to investigate possiblities for producing alternative fuel and natural farming. He had just picked up this past weekend a copy of One Straw Revolution, and this of course, is an area close to LINK students hearts as they traveled to Japan on last year's service trip and worked on natural farming projects. There was much to share in walks around the property. Here are some pics from our "down time" on the farm. David shows the group a pitcher plant, a carnivorous plant. Girls ride Jasmine, we explore the clay pit on the back of the property with Basha the great dane, and more.
