Approach to Willow Lake
Jay and I hiked the first set of switchbacks that lead to Willow Lake on Saturday morning. The mosquitoes were horrendous. But the view that opens up after the 13 switchbacks is incredible. A large meadow and fast running streams. We will work towards the lake in a series of hikes this summer. The terrain is so different from our home in the grants! Amazing that one can walk to such a totally different environment in relatively short time, and the whole spectrum can be called part of "living in Crestone". Yay!
