Metamorphoses
Finn's class performed an extraordinary play---the depth of the story appealled to the largely adult audience, and moved folks to tears at times. Directed by Bill Roberts, it was a sinuous and tightly strung play that told the stories of the love lives of the gods, goddesses and humans of ancient Greece and Rome---based on the works of Ovid, and written by Mary Zimmerman. Finn played "King Midas" and was working the "Steve Wozniak" techno-billionaire edge. Bill's daughter, isabella, was the child turned to gold. Many other amazing tales unfoled, Orpheus and Eurydice particularly haunting, anyway, in the end, Midas finds redemption as he rinses his hands in a pool of fresh spring water lit by moonlight, and his daughter is restored to human form. Really beautiful.
