Finn back from Camping

Finn, in a hoodie he painted at school, just got back from a 4 day camping trip with his class. The first two days were spent at a wonderful campground called "100 Elks" up by Salida. He said it was "awesome" and enjoyed the zip line, high ropes, canoeing, smores, "goofy" camp songs and teacher Charlie's bedtime story about the dreaded "ear-wigs" that are the size of your ear canal and crawl into it and eat out your brains! He's a scientist, he knows! The last 2 days were spent up by Villa Grove. Rain kept them from hiking to the Orient Mine Land Trust which monitors a Bat Cave where 250,000 migratory bats enter and exit at dusk. His teachers said this didn't matter because Finn and the upperclass boys kept the entire group entertained with skits and improvs. We all love Finn's new school, teachers and the school community. It is the greatest joy as a parent to see my child so healthy, happy and alive with curiosity for learning. We are truly fortunate.
