LINK leaves Louisiana

The group left Friday morning for Jacksonville, Fl and the remainder of their trip in Washington DC. Here's pics of Brandon saying goodbye to Basha the great dane and our hostess Ilene, and a view of the van pulling away. Finn and I continue our journey here in Louisiana with friends and family. Our next big stop is Harrisonburg, to our ancestral home on the Ouachita River. My father turns 70 next weekend, and there will be a large and wonderful celebration of him in the old school Gymnasium. After this Finn and I will head back home to Crestone in time for his departure with the middle school class on their DC trip. To keep up with the LINK group remember you can follow their class blog--it's linked on the right of our page.

WAtching that van drive off down the lane--what a cap to this wonderful series of pictures, Kathryn. These photos through the latest days in the area have been so wonderful. I have heard from several parents and interested others how much they have enjoyed the blog during the trip. Your's has been so important to us all here, in visualizing what we are supporting in our thoughts and prayers. And for you to have accomplished all this while coordinating, and tour guiding, and keeping up with it all?!!!
Thanks so much for all you have done. I hope that the remaining time in LA nurtures your soul and heart.
Love to you and Finn,
Anrahyah

Thank you so very much for this site, it is so wonderful to follow the kids trip this way. It is also such a contrast to the Japan and Europe trip where communications were a challenge. It has really renewed my sense of why we do these trips. This will be an experience that will remain in many hearts and souls for a very long time. Once again THANK YOU for all your good works!
Sincerely, Karen Potter

Anrahyah, thank you so much for leaving us comments so consistently--it's great to feel the support and know we are being followed on this journey. Hello Karen! I have really enjoyed getting to know Kailee a little better on this trip. And i agree, i think the blog is a great tool for keeping in touch with the journey from a distance. It's also a great tool for documenting and reflecting for the travelers, too. And ALEX!! hello! Isn't Basha a love! I had a scooby-doo moment when i thought of the combination of the "teens" the "mystery van" and even the swamp tour they went on...HA!
