India Dinner Fundraiser

Those of you who followed the highschool on their Louisiana trip here at the blog might be interested to know that they are already planning for their next year's trip, a journey to Northern India. Last night we went to a terrific fundraiser that offered an Indian dinner along with music and dance, all presented by the students and friends of the school. The students helped prepare and serve the meal. And here is a picture of one of my new colleagues, Amulya, the assistant director, on the right, who was one of the featured dancers during the event. A local Ashram here in Crestone has many friends who have travelled to this part of the world many, many times, and they presented a slide show of all the stops the group will be making during their nearly 3 week journey next April and May. It looks incredible. Thomas, one of the teachers, has a sister who teaches at an American school in Delhi which will be their main host for the trip. The Crestone kids will get to interact with a school community that has over 30 nationalities of students, as well as tour villages, temples, and of course, see the Taj Mahal.
