Marika and Art Students

I observed another LINK mentorship this week: 2 high school students studying art with Marika. Marika was born in Hungary in 1938 and has painted for many years in many mediums. Her work is exhibited internationally. Her love is oils, but since she had only seven or so sessions with her students, she chose to have them work in acrylics as it would dry faster and allow them to complete a piece before the end of their time with her. She showed me her private stash of pigments which she let the girls use to mix their own colors for their paintings. Her home was very beautiful and simple and her artwork was very inspiring. She has been focused on expressing consciousness in her work, and most recently Sound--earthly and cosmic energies. Her works are incredible. I'm blown away by the possibilities and infinities that unfold in the day-to-day here in this very "little" community. These are some pictures I took during my time with Marika the students working there with her on Wednesday afternoon.
