Blanketing Softness

We are getting a beautiful introduction to Winter. Not really having had a true wintering season in southeast Louisiana, this is a total wonderland for the 3 of us. Here's our Birch Road home, the Sand Dunes in the background, all with a fresh dusting of snow. They are predicting MINUS 17 tonight! I will take a picture of the thermometer if that's the truth! The dryness of the air combined with the warmth of the sun makes this a very comfortable "cold", not at all like wet-biting Southern Winter days. You do need your long underwear and hat and gloves, but there is a bright, briskness to the whole area and it feels so vitalizing to be out in it. Winter in high-desert country...gorgeous.
