Louisiana Green

Finn and I drove across the Atchafalaya Basin east of Baton Rouge in the late afternoon light, and the water and all the greening trees were a welcomed sight and change from our high desert vistas. Here's a pic from the top of Whiskey Bay. We drove into the city at night. Large sections are still in darkness, silent, and uninhabited. But the interstate is alive and wild as ever with city traffic and many, many out-of-state liscence plates and caravans. We passed three other vehicles with Colorado plates on the Bonne Carrie Spillway. We'll do family photos tomorrow, but for tonight, a quick post to say we made it and sweet dreams to all.
