The Best Neighbor on the Planet

When we knew we were moving from Abita, one thing that we had to get ok with was the fact that we would not have John and Julie Colley for next door neighbors. It was our great, good fortune to live next to these people for 12 years and we knew we would never, ever have better neighbors, no matter where on the whole planet we moved. So it was really terrific to have John come visit for a day here in Crestone and remind us of all our connections in Abita, but also share with him some of the new wonderments of life in Colorado. Here's a picture of John and Jay in the yard listening to the coyotes howling. John is a terrifically funny guy, and so kind and right-headed in all his thinkings and doings. It was great to spend time with him here at our new home. He was the first to sleep on the new innerspring queen-futon in the guest room and said he "slept like a baby". So...everyone...reserve your spot soon! The next day, after morning coffee, he left heading northwest, towards the town of Basalt, where he had visited several years ago and enjoyed very much. Please single click the picture above to enjoy John's expression very much!
